The school year 2016-2017, the Molyvos International Music Festival  enriches its education programme “Music Key” with “MO-TO Key” a programme that aims to give children the tools to organise by themselves a cultural event, a concert!

In collaboration with the German cultural institution, TONALi, Lesvos represents Greece, the third country to realise this programme, after Germany and Italy.

In “MO-TO Key» pupils of the fifth and sixth grade and high school students participate. The programme is adapted to the Greek educational and pedagogical principles.

“MO-TO key» is realised in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of the North Aegean, the North Aegean Region and with the generous support of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation.

School children that participate, learn basic cultural management principles, and by “adopting” a talented TONALi musician they plan and organise autonomously a concert in their schools. Also students from all schools involved in cooperation with the festival organising team prepare the final concert at the Municipal Theatre of Mytilene (March 31, 6: 30p.m.) which completes the program for this year. In the concert the musicians as an ensemble will perform chamber music works.

It is worth noting that children through this training program have the opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge, useful for their every day life! They meet and work with talented musicians, young in age, from the field of classical music. MO-TO Key is the result of the coordination of their actions, their initiatives, their originality of ideas and their ingenuity!
