Despacito goes Classic! …made in the Aegean

A classical version of the summer hit, ”Despacitο” was captured spontaneously in August, during the Molyvos International Music Festival -Lesbos Island, Greece- and since the few days it has been released and shared in the social media around the world has reached thousands of views, showing that music has indeed no borders!.

During the Festival, three acclaimed musicians who participated, Lech Antonio Uszynski-Viola, Timothy Ridout-Viola and Petrit Çeku –guitar, had the idea of performing the piece with classical music instruments, using as a background the idyllic landscape of Molyvos village. Director Vangelis Efthymiou, a collaborator of the Festival, was there to record it and the result is fascinating.
It is worth noting that the song is performed on violas from the 16th and 17th century!

The result is yet another proof of the power that music has to create bridges and connect people!
Enjoy it and share it as a summer memory, as an example of musical metamorphosis!
