The Greek Drama and Music Critics Association awarded yesterday the Molyvos International Music Festival with the “PRIZE GIVEN TO A MUSIC CULTURAL ORGANISATION ACTIVE IN THE PERIPHERY REGION for the seriousness and truly international character of the organisation, taking place in a symbolic location that is a geographical and cultural bastion of a united Europe”
The ceremony took place in the full venue “Dimitris Mitropoulos” at the Athens Concert Hall.
The award was presented to the organising team of the festival, by the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Athens, Mr. Peter Schoof who expressed his deep appreciation to the inhabitants of Lesbos for setting an example of solidarity.
Numerous friends and supporters of the Festival attended the ceremony amongst which the poet Titos Patrikios, the sculptor Aristide Patsoglou, the President of Diazoma Stavros Benos, the Regional Governor of the North Aegean Ms. Christiana Kalogirou and the President of the Molyvos Tourism Association Nikos Molvalis.
The organising team thanked all institutions and sponsors for their support, and the volunteers in Lesbos and abroad, stressing that particularly young volunteers form the future of the Festival.
